Armed Security Officer – Warehouse Facility

Responsibilities & Core Duties

• • Access Control & Visitor Screening: Verify credentials of employees, vendors, contractors, and visitors prior to granting entry. Manage entry gates, driver check-in processes, and visitor logs to prevent unauthorized access to the warehouse floor and administrative areas.
• • Perimeter & Facility Patrols: Conduct scheduled and randomized foot or vehicle patrols of warehouse interiors, inventory aisles, loading docks, perimeter fencing, and parking lots to deter trespassers, theft, and vandalism.
• • Dock & Freight Security: Monitor loading dock operations, ensuring secure loading/unloading procedures, verifying seal numbers where applicable, and protecting high-value inventory.
• • Surveillance & System Monitoring: Monitor CCTV feed systems, intrusion detection alarms, and access control hardware to quickly identify suspicious behavior or unauthorized entries.
• • Incident Response: Act as a primary armed responder to on-site security breaches, alarms, property damage, trespass incidents, or emergency situations (including medical or weather-related events) until local law enforcement or first responders arrive.
• • Facility Safety Inspection: Inspect emergency exits, dock doors, fire extinguishers, and lighting during patrols. Report safety hazards, maintenance issues, or compromised doors/locks immediately.
• • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate Daily Activity Reports (DARs), visitor/truck logs, and detailed, professional Incident Reports covering any security infractions, property damage, or safety hazards.

Licensing & Certification Requirements

• • Maryland Security Guard Certification (Active/Required)
• • Maryland Wear and Carry Permit (Active/Required)
• • Firearm / OC Spray / Baton Qualifications (Valid credentials/permits)
• • First Aid / CPR / AED Certification (Active or obtainable upon hire)

Minimum Qualifications

• • Must be at least 21 years of age.
• • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
• • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in armed security, law enforcement, or honorable military service (U.S. Armed Forces).
• • Must possess a valid Driver's License and reliable personal transportation.
• • Must fluently speak, read, comprehend, and write detailed reports in English.
• • Must pass a background investigation and drug screening.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• • Work is conducted both indoors (climate-controlled and warehouse environments) and outdoors (parking lots, gatehouses, and dock areas) in varying weather conditions.
• • Requires the physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods during patrol shifts.
• • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, and navigate warehouse obstacles, with the ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs if necessary in an emergency or operational capacity.

Available Shifts

Monday – Friday: Day, Evening, and Overnight shifts.

• Day: 0700–1500
• Evening: 1500–2300
• Overnight: 2300–0700

Part-time weekends (Saturday & Sunday) use the same Day, Evening, and Overnight windows.
